Does anyone know what the "merge tag" is for constant contact that you can provide to docsend to create a mail merge link? Docsend has about 10 email services pre-populated but constant contact is not one of them. For example the link for mailchimp is =*|EMAIL|*
Hello BobB04,
Thank you for reaching out to Constant Contact API Developer Support. My team is here to assist outside software developers with questions about building into Constant Contact's API.
From what we can see in DocSend's documentation, it appears that Constant Contact is not one of the compatible platforms listed with their service:
Mail Merge Links
https://help.docsend.com/hc/en-us/articles/216949018-Mail-Merge-Links
However, it looks like they do offer an option called "Create a Mail Merge Link using Other" where you select "Other" when creating the link. Constant Contact doesn't currently offer anything like a "Merge tag", so I am unable to guarantee that it would work, but you could test it and/or reach out to DocSend's support team for further guidance.
Please have a look and let us know if you have any other questions!
Regards,
Thanks Jon, I was able to get it to work using "Create a Mail Merge Link using Other" and then inputting [[EmailAddress]].
Hi Jon, I had this working back in January but now it does not work now. Has there been any progress on working with Docsend to make Constant Contact one of the supported mail merge link partners? I see Mailchimp, Outreach, Hubspot, Pardot, Marketo, and other listed but not Constant Contact.
ok sorry for the confusion. I checked my notes and consulted with our IT provider and he reminded me it only works when you send a real email and not a test email. It appears as though constant contact only embeds the recipient email address for mail merge when you send the email campaign and not when you test it. I am good for now, thanks.
