A somewhat minor point (but not to a newbie) it is not obvious that I can't import the email address into a field other than the email address field. It seems as if this would show up as an error. Your system actually allowed me to import Name, Email address --> custom1, password --> custom 2, and I didn't see an error. I only saw that 0 records were updated / imported.
