Hello, I'm realizing that the activities/add_list_memberships endpoint returns a successful response to both unsubscribed and pending confirmation contacts. If a contact pending confirmation gets added to a list through this endpoint, will they be retroactively added to the lists once they confirm?

Hello, I'm trying to modify specific users' subscribed lists. The problem is that I don't have their Contact ID, just their email address and other personal information. Is there a way using the API to retrieve their Contact ID by email address to update that users' subscribed lists? If I try to add the user to Contacts, the API comes back with an error that the user already exists, and in the error message, it has the users' Contact ID. I can parse the ID from the string but doesn't feel reliable, and I was hoping the API had an actually way to retrieve the Contact ID in a better / more reliable manner.

The updating portion makes sense but how would you be able to Search a "sort-deleted" user by email? I currently have a system where the user searches by email address so they can update lists and contact information. A soft-deleted user comes back from the API as a 200 but with empty contact body. The following was via 'contacts' GET passing in the `email_address` parameter in the v3 API. [body] => { "contacts" : [] } [response] => Array ( [code] => 200 [message] => OK ) Is there a different method to retrieve a "soft-deleted" contact via the API so that they can be updated via PUT?

I know this is a super old issue but I was running into the same problem. The v3 URL is different and is below: https://idfed.constantcontact.com/as/token.oauth2 Take note to the URL above not ending in a forward slash. My issue was that I was using a forward slash: https://idfed.constantcontact.com/as/token.oauth2/ The above URL was giving me a 404 error because of the forward slash. Be wary!
