Apparently (after chatting with CC support) a contacts email client may have bots that are checking for spam when they receive emails. The bots are clicking on the links. I looked closely at the export of people that clicked on the email links of my campaign. A large majority of the contact who clicked had 5 clicks - which makes no sense (there weren't many links in the email). So it turns out most of the contacts showing they clicked on the email were just bots. This is very frustrating.
