I'm looking for the feature to make the buttons or hyperlink in a PDF to work directly in templates.

Since PDFs can't be embedded into emails, this wouldn't be possible. You'd either need to recreate the PDF using the actual email builder, add the same links as clickable elements in your email, or you'd need to link directly to the PDF in your email and direct / CTA your contacts to click it.
