We are a small non-profit local history museum in Rockford, IL, and have struggled to generate new members and event sponsors since the pandemic. Last spring we invested in a new template design for our existing monthly e-newsletter with Constant Contact that refreshed our branding, and then we initiated a new monthly e-newsletter for area educators to build awareness of our field trip opportunities. The result has been a massive increase in our open rate and addition of new subscribers. It helped solve our general challenge of teaching our local community what "living history" is, and why it is such a unique and immersive way to explore the stories from our community from the 1830s to the present! Needless to say, we are budget-strapped as a non-profit, and I cannot imagine a more cost-effective way to build awareness and engagement with our mission as a museum! Very encouraged for more growth in 2025!
