Word docs, like PDFs and other document-type files, can be added to your email via inserting a link. Since documents can't be embedded into emails, they're instead hosted in the Library cloud and linked to in your email. When uploaded to the Library, an image conversion of the first page is included if you wish to include it in the email as a cover page.
