We can't guarantee a commitment to deliver on this feature request, but it should indicate some awareness that we have heard your feedback and could be taken under consideration for a future release.   In the meantime, an automation path will need to be recreated if you need to change the trigger type. Copying from a welcome-type trigger, will result in the copies also being that type, so if you're wanting a different trigger type, you'd need to make a new path.    To address your issue with deleting your automations, as long as the automation path isn't active, you can delete it.
