problem with updating a contact

I had the same contact under 2 different email addresses. I deleted one, and then tried to change the email address on the original entry to the more recent email address, and the system would not let me. It tells me that email already exists, even though I deleted it and have no way of retrieving it.

Hello @JonB254 ,

 

Try re-uploading the other email address through the type/paste multiple or upload via file methods - just the email address. This should restore the original data that was associated with. Then delete the contact whose email address you don't want.
