What happens if an already existing contact in a constant contact list fills out the sign-up form? Does it create a duplicate entry?
Hello @QEI ,
Since email addresses are what denotes a unique contact, if that email address is already in your account when they use the sign up form, it'll simply update any applicable contact fields (first name, physical address, list membership, etc.) that are different from what you already have.
Thanks for the quick response William, We wanted to do a segmentation of existing contacts based on their interests in the products. For that, we have created a Popup form on the website. So if an existing contact selects any checkbox on the form, can we add them to a new list? or is it a way to add that selected checkbox field as a tag to that contact? TIA.
What is the checkmark box for? If it's pop-up form you made within your Constant Contact account, then I'd assume it's for list selection- in which case any checkmark box that signee selects will have them added to the corresponding list in your account.
If it's a form you've made outside of your Constant Contact account, then it may depend on how the form is setup to integrate and sync with your Constant Contact account.
Yes Checkboxes are for list selection but form is made outside constant contact. We will also explore the option of creating a popup in constant contact, I think it also needs a landing page to make it available to audience?
