Event and Registration Page

I have created a new event page with a Registration button. The Registration page duplicates the information on the event page, including a downsized version of the banner, which is unreadable. I cannot locate a way to customize the Registration page, so the attendee's path is confusing at best and is a missed opportunity to communicate with the visitor. Is there a way to create unique content and images on the Registration and Event pages?

Anything you have for the event's description, which is editable via event's basics settings, will display as a default on the registration page, as well as for Event blocks

 

Event descriptions should be very brief and direct, and what you'd expect to show as a default element on the landing page, invitations, and registration page.

 

Event blocks can be added to emails or landing pages, and are included by default for emails and landing pages built within the specific event. They can be edited to not include the text block (description), image, or other default elements included in the event's basics.

 

Event landing pages and emails can be customized beyond the info put into the event's settings. The registration page cannot be customized beyond the event's settings.

Hello @SteveE8639 ,

 

I'd advise not using the banner for your event's main image. Either use an image of the event itself (if it's an annual one you ave previous iages of) or an applicable logo for either the event or your organization. 

 

If you'd like to include the banner in some aspect of your event's marketing, it can b eincluded as a manually-added image block for your event landing page, emails, etc.

Thanks, William. That is the heart of my question. The registration page content has all been generated from the event page, and I do not see where to customize it.

You can change the image by editing the event's basics via the Edit button on the event's dashboard.

 

The event landing page pulls the image as part of the overall Event Block that's automatically included with it. This can be deleted by clicking the image, then clicking its trash can. You can then drag over your banner image or an image placeholder block and Replace, just like adding images to a regular email or landing page.

Somehow I am not conveying the situation correctly. My event page is complete. However, when the visitor clicks through to register, the registration page duplicates the written content and image. I wish to provide unique content for the registration page.

That's because that information is what you included in your basics for the event. That is what's going to display in the registration page and in the event block of your landing page as a default functionality. If you don't want that info to display for on the registration page itself, then you're going to want to remove it from the event's basic settings. 

 

This means that for your landing page, you'd need to manually add it to the landing page via a separate text block, after the change is made.

I made a manual change to the event page to the published event, which was immediately updated on the registration page.

On a higher level, offering information about an event is a different stage in the customer's journey than making the move to register. Each of those events requires content to match expectations. The only information that should be carried forward is the time, date, locations, etc. By repeating the content, this map injects confusion for the visitor and is a missed opportunity to connect. This is buyer journey 101.

The event's description is meant to be a brief, simple explanation or welcome of what prospective registrants are signing up for. 

 

Your event landing pages, emails, and social posts are where you can include (for example):

  • additional, more elaborative information,
  • guest speaker intros,
  • info about parking,
  • info about the venue,
  • info about logging into an online meeting,

or any other pertinent info wouldn't make sense in a brief, limited-character general description for the event.

I agree 100%. I just don't want to share the exact same content on two sequential pages in the event registration process, especially with a tiny version of the banner image mashed into the right-hand corner.

 

One more time to make sure we are not talking apples and oranges: Will the Event and Registration pages always display the same content?

For the suggestion box: everything should be customizable in 2024, especially when the stock offering is identical content on sequential pages in a series.
