Insert a "View as Webpage" link into an email

This Step 5 note seems like a very basic requirement:

  • Note: Standard web link styles are applied to the link and can't be changed.

I'm going to try it out as an image link, and I'd love to borrow some expertise here for reasons and/or solutions. We might use this link as part of a Deliverability work-around.

Hello @Toner ,

The thing about the coded View as Webpage link is that it specifically requires the Insert function available for text blocks. There isn't an explicit link for the email's webpage version, until it is actually sent out, nor is there a variable tag that can be used. Therefore, View as Webpage links will only really work as text, not as an image or button.

That said, you can work around this by the following steps:

  • Finalize the email you wish to send out.
  • Send it to a list with at least 1 contact, typically it would be your own.
  • Copy the sent email's permanent URL, which is generated upon sending it out.
  • Copy the email that was sent.
  • Edit the copied version to include a link to the already sent version's URL, whether as a text, image, or button link.
  • Send the finalized copied version to your actual contact list(s).

Keep in mind you'd have to repeat this process with every single email senout.
