Segmentation for Dividing List?

Hello! I need to divide my contacts into three portions for the purposes of distributing a survey in three phases. It does not really matter whether the contact has opened a previous email recently, where they live, etc. It only matters that I send each of the three survey invitations to a third of our contacts.

 

Is list segmentation the tool to use to do this? If yes, how? If not, what would be a better way to achieve this list "division" for the purposes of one three-part campaign?

Is there any specific criteria that you're using to split up these contacts? 

 

If you're only looking to send an invitation to a random one-third of your target contacts, then I'd recommend exporting that full list, splitting up the list in Excel into three separate files, then uploading each of those thirds as a separate list.
