We need to send over 200 unique emails to 200 separate contacts. The only thing unique will be a button link to a unique PDF.
We were told that we would need to create a list for each contact.. meaning I would have to create over 200 lists just to be able to send these emails. This is going to take forever. I'm baffled that you cannot send a one-off email to a contact. Surely, there are other people who find themselves wanting to create an email in constant contact and send it to one person.... without needing to make a bunch of lists or tags. This is not a great user experience as is.
Hello @DanielleK0 ,
The only way to do this would be by setting things up on your website / wherever you're hosting the unique PDFs to accept specific variables based on the contact, and then setting up dynamic links. The info contained in this article is for guidance on adding dynamic elements to URLs you link to in your email campaign. We wouldn't be able to provide any guidance or insight on setting things up on the side of PDF host site / your website.
Otherwise, there's no other way to viably do what you're trying to do, purely within our system, since it's not built for generating unique documents for individual contacts being mass-mailed to.
Hello William,
Let me clarify - we are trying to send a unique email to 200 different people. There is currently no way to send 1 email to 1 contact. Therefore, we have to create over 200 lists with one person on them, just to be able to send this specific email. It's a pain because the only thing that is different on each email is one link. Therefore, we have to create the email 200 times and create 200 lists. There should be an option to send an email to one email of choice, rather than having to make them into their own list.
Thanks
You can send a single email to a single contact if you so choose, between the list option already suggested by your earlier support inquiry or via quicksending an email that's already been sent. The complication for your situation is the inclusion of the unique PDF per each individual contact, which is why the dynamic variable would be the only viable option, and would still require a significant amount of sidework outside of the system.
Can you explain what you mean by the "dynamic variable" option?
Thanks
See my initial response, as it provides what you'd need to setup within your Constant Contact account, but would still necessitate setting those variables up in your website for hosting the unique documents.
Thanks... We'll continue with the time-consuming, painstaking method of putting them into their own lists. Please consider being able to send one email to one recipient without having to put them into a list.
