We're bias, but using Constant Contact is one of the best marketing strategies you can use for your online business. With all of our tools in automation, access to a plethora of integrations, the ability to connect your social media accounts, run ads, and of course our old faithful, email marketing- you have everything you need to hit the ground running.

Here are my top 5 strategies for marketing your online business:

1. Know your audience. Who are you trying to attract? How can you target them? How can you get them added to your list?

2. Promote yourself on social media. Everyone is universally connected on social media nowadays. You need to get out there and start posting. But make sure to stay on brand with who you are as a business!

3. Email Marketing. It's old faithful for a reason. Email marketing gets your content in the right inboxes and allows your audience to get more visibility into who you are. You can also cater your content and attract different customers based on their likes and wants.

4. Curate your content. You want your content whether it's on social media, email, or elsewhere to fully align with who you are. In the beginning stages, focus on quality over quantity and really carve out your messages, take time with imagery, and build your brand.

5. Add automation to your life. Automation is a game changer. Play around with it and you'll see how much time you save in a day, week, or even a month. Create custom paths and journeys for each bucket of customers you have and they'll feel as though your content was curated just for them.

@Abigail_S, that's a great breakdown of essential online marketing strategies. As a small business marketing agency with over 14 years of experience, we couldn't agree more.

Constant Contact is a powerful tool for businesses of all sizes. Its automation features, integration capabilities, and robust email marketing tools make it a key asset in your marketing tools arsenal.

While we believe Constant Contact is essential for effective online marketing, we'd like to add a few more strategies to your list.

  • First, building a strong online presence is crucial. This involves optimizing your website for search engines (SEO), ensuring it's mobile-friendly, and leveraging local SEO tactics.
  • Second, explore the potential of pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. PPC campaigns can help you target specific keywords and reach your ideal customers at the right moment.
  • Finally, don't overlook the importance of analytics. Tracking your website traffic, social media engagement, and email open rates will help you measure the effectiveness of your marketing efforts and make data-driven decisions.

By combining these strategies—email marketing, SEO, PPC, and a strong online presence—you can effectively attract, engage, and convert your target audience, ultimately driving increased sales for your business.

Curious about these thoughts? Let's connect and explore the best way to grow YOUR business!

Great list Abigail!

I totally agree that knowing your audience is one of the most critical components of a robust marketing strategy. When we have a grasp of their pain points, and how our product or service solves their problem, along with where they're spending time online, we can then build out a strategic online marketing campaign that aligns with them.

My top strategies:

  1. Know your audience.
  2. Create content on the platforms they're spending time on.
  3. Focus on the assets you own: email list, website and blog. You never know when the playground owner will kick you out.
  4. Create some lead magnets! Always Be Growing Your List!
  5. Leverage your Google Business Profile. So many reasons, but here's 3:

(1)Google is the #1 search engine in the world, and Google loves Google

(2)People turn to  a search engine when they have an intent to make a purchase

(3)Google Business Profiles are FREE

For more than 15 years, we've worked with hundreds of small business owners, helping them create and launch effective digital marketing campaigns, and these strategies have never failed us.
