select contacts on page

How can I select all the contacts on a page without checking each one separately?  When I click the top button, it selects ALL my contacts

There isn't a way, if you just want contacts on a specific page selected, you'd need to do them one-by-one. You can adjust the number of contacts that display on a page, using the dropdown at the bottom of the list / report.
