temporarily hold customer emails?

Is there a way for me to put on temporary hold, email address as they purchase the seasonal sport registration so as not to bombard them for weeks after they have already made the purchase? I don't want to lose the contact as I will want to email them again for the next season and on a weekly basis during the soccer season.

I lose a few people with unsubscribes however, during the season we email parents weekly with important league information and they wonder why Im not emailing them. lol

You can place contacts on a temporary hold by editing their permission status on an individual basis. However, you'd need to remember to then take these contacts off their temp hold status.

Another option would be to tag contacts that make purchases, that way you can narrow-by-tag and exclude them when you send to your main list.
