Inserting multiple images

According to your help center, I should be able to use the 5 column layout (intended for social links) to insert up to 5 side by side images. However, the images will not insert into any of the columns, but rather they only insert above or below it. I've tried deleting the links first, still no luck. What am I doing wrong?

Hello @JaneCD ,

Are you dragging over the image block and position it so that the pink line (or square) is lined up with the link placeholder, as shown in this article on setting up mutli-column layouts?

If you're having trouble with dragging action blocks in general, I'd advise performing some basic connectivity troubleshooting such as cache clearing or extension disabling to see if that alleviates your issue at all.

Yes, I am. The pink lines are only showing above and below the 5 column block. I cannot drag anything into the individual link placeholders within the column layout. I'm not having difficulty dragging images into the other column layouts, just this one.

Are you dragging over images from the images tab of the lefthand menu, or are you dragging over image blocks first?

I've tried it both ways with the same result.

Thank you for providing that info. It looks like there's an odd usability issue our devs have received some reports on, where the multi-column layouts don't connect with the dragged-over blocks correctly unless there's multiple lines of text (like 2-5 lines generally). I tested this in your account via the CSC_TEST_ copy of your latest email, and was able to get it to work. You're welcome to utilize that CSC_TEST_ or perform the workaround in your original version of the email.

The full process is to:

  1. Drag over the 5-column layout block.
  2. Add additional lines of text to the link, for example I just repeatedly typed a letter and entered to the next line 5 times for each column's text block. You can also type actual words, if you're wanting text above/below the image you'll be inserting.
  3. Drag over an image block or an image, and you should see the pink line lock to the specific column when your mouse is positioned near it.
  4. Delete the text blocks once the image or image placeholders are in position, if you don't want any text above/below the images.

Since it is an issue on our end, I've marked your account as affected and submitted the case to the engineers for further review. If and when they have an update regarding it, they'll notify you directly.

FYI, appears this issue is ongoing. Your workaround appears to work, however. Thanks.
