Ability to edit HTML in email campaign

Arghh not dig'n it. How can I view a new account in the old editor? The new editor is like the new social social sharing tool... a wicked drag.

Is there any way to access and change the underlying HTML and/or CSS of an email? I would like to be able to do things like add tables to an email (something I used to be able to do easily) and I can do that by adding to the HTML, if I had access.

Thanks for your help!

I would like to see an option for example, an Advanced tab in the Editor to edit HTML.

I understand that Constant Contact is implementing mobile responsive design; however, those of us who understand mobile design requirements shouldn't be restricted from editing the HTML code.

For example:

To replace Constant Contact's social media icon's with one's own icons and links to each icon.  Not doable right now since cannot place three images side by side.

This was my first time using Constant Contact, previously we were with iContact. I found the editor incredibly limiting. I would like to see the ability to:

  1. Insert vertical separators
  2. Insert a table
  3. Add borders to images or sections
  4. Manually edit without having to start the design process from scratch
  5. Add subject and body to email links, ie. <a href="mailto:test@example.com?subject=testing out mailto&body=Just testing">Click to email</a>
  6. Make phone numbers clickable on buttons, ie. <a href="tel:5555555555"><img src="http://www.domain.com/files/phone-icon.jpg"></a>
  7. Use a font that is an ODD number, ie. 13, 15, 17, or be able to choose a size between 28 and 36, or between 36 and 48. Although, a font that large should never be used, but I want the option.

I understand creating an editor that is simple enough that anybody can sit down and creat a decent looking email. But we should have the option of an advanced editor, or at the very least, having access to the code after the email has been laid out.

It was extremely helpful to have the HTML editor ability to fix issues.  Please, please, please bring it back!

Please, please, please add back the ability to edit html and some of the other functionality of the old editor. I understand the need to make sure  that emails are responsive and mobile-friendly, but shouldn't that be the decision of the customer?  I believe that most of us who want the html functionality understand how to ensure the code will remain responsive.  Maybe a better solution would be to add back the features from the old editor and provide additional tutorials and tips on how to ensure emails are responsive, mobile-friendly.  Or evolve the old editor into an "advanced editor" and market the new editor for basic and beginning customers.

I completely agree with these suggestions. We seem to have less control than ever before over how we set up our templates. It was pretty great the way it was before with more choices and abilities to customize templates. Gave us all much more freedom to be creative. That's what I liked about CC. Now it's very limited, even with the new editing "experience".

My thoughts were that constant contact would be a great way to keep my community informed on what we are doing.  A template was designed for my use and all I would need to do is edit the content when sending a new email.  The problem is that the images from the first email does not appear in preview but they show up in final version to my community.  This makes me look sloopy and careless.  Is there a way to correct this concern?  My last resort would be to cancel my account.

Editing Font and sizes is FRUSTRATING

I would like a show/ hide feature like in word - with this new interface if I change the font it does not all the words I highlightto chang, so I can not see hard returns etc.

I have to change the font and size word by word - extrememly frustrating!

I am disappointed that inserting one's own HTML is no longer an option. Am I missing something?

Hi @A.LucyM,

Thanks for this feedback! You are correct in that our 3rd generation editor does not have an HTML option. Our teams are currently looking into specific use cases for using HTML so that we can bring these features into the new editor.

Can you tell us a bit more about what you like to customize via HTML that is easier than doing in the editor?
