Welcome to Casual Conversations!
Every first (usually) Wednesday of the month we want to take a moment out of our day to break from the hustle and bustle of online marketing and open discussion up to subjects that have less to do with emails, events, and landing pages and more to do with... everything else!
Now sometimes we might skirt the line between business and pleasure in our topics of conversation, but ultimately we know how hard y'all are working and it's fun to think about something other than work every once in a while.
I have to admit something. I might write for a living, but I am a terrible reader (at least, when it comes to prose novels). I have struggled in my adult years to finish most books I've had an interest to pick up and it only seems to get worse. I've had some success with reading books on my phone by changing the page turning function to scrolling (maybe it tricks my brain into thinking I'm just reading a random article). Until recent years, I was a voracious reader of graphic novels but even that has waned.
Anyway, I've been slowly (so slowly) reading through the Witcher books (telling myself that if I finish them all I'll actually get around to playing the video games). I've finished the two anthology books and the first book of the main series. I read a page of the second book and was like, "Cool," then moved on with my life. Now I'm back! It's called "The Time of Contempt" by Andrzej Sapkowski. Let's see how long it takes me to read. I might get around to playing the Witcher games in my 50s.
So, what are you reading? Prose? Comics/Graphic Novels? Ancient nomadic cave scribbles? Reply to this post and let me know!
