Duplicate email addresses

After thoroughly deleting an email group for the art tour that I’m on as I am going to add them back in plus some new ones I keep getting the message that that is an existing contact. It is not! And I’ve searched all through my email lists, and it tells me that I don’t have a contact under those names so I cannot create them as a new contact or add them to a list . Can’t seem to figure out how to fix this or what to do. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you. Dawn

Hi @DawnP727. It's possible that the email existed at one time in the account and when the contact was removed, the email address stayed behind even though it was not searchable anymore. I'm not sure how you were adding this new contact back to a list, but I'll suggest creating a file with this address and any others you may need to upload to the same list and importing it into the account. This should recreate the contact record.

I don’t think so, but why would the email address not be searchable? I deleted the group and then went back and searched out the names of the group that kept saying they were still there, and was unable to find them. So even if I create a group in a file or in notes and try to add back to Constant Contact the same thing happens.

Very frustrating because I need to send group emails to these people. Thanks

Our Support team is best equipped to look into these addresses since the file upload workaround didn't work. They can do some more digging to find out why these addresses aren't searchable. Here is a link to their phone numbers and hours of operation.
