Has Inserting Links for PDFs changed?

It seems that, overnight, I need to upload a document to CC to post its link, rather than linking to a copy of it on our web server. What gives? Why would CC want to store all my documents? Please don't fix what isn't broken! If I'm misunderstanding something, please advise.

Nothing's changed, if you want to link a document, then you'd upload it to your library and link to it that way. If you want to link to an external site, then you'd link to a webpage.

In the screenshot, I don't see a place to paste in an external link.

Based on the screenshot you provided, it appears that you are attempting to connect a document. This requires you to either choose a document that is already in your library or upload a new one and then select it. Thank you. I was editing a link that I update every time I send this email, and connecting to a doc was the only choice I was given. It is new that I can't just edit an old link, but have to remove the link and then choose "Webpage" again.
