Why is the text changed to purple when sending a test email?

I noticed when I send a test email to my manager that some of the text in a newsletter changes to purple. Does anyone know why. 

I'm wondering if it is to "highlight" that a change was made... but I'm not sure if I send the newsletter out if it will have purple text.

Hello @TRNC ,

 

Is it specifically links, or is it entire sections of text? If it's entire sections of text, were these copied and pasted from an external source, or were they manually typed in?
