My simple work around - I send test emails to myself and then forward them to any participants that need to see them and I add the word "DRAFT" to the subject line. Been doing it that way for over 3 years.

It seems like larger files and HEIC are very standard today. When will CC update to allow more file varieties besides jpeg? This would be helpful in eliminating file conversion and compression from the task list.

Are you able to:
Use the explicit Share link that Vimeo provides, and does it let it generate the thumbnail as expected?
Use "Change Thumbnail" option to select image from library, and continue?
Manually link to the video by creating an image link?
