Creating accessible emails

Why is proper punctuation not allowed in alt text?

Best practices for alt text and creating accessible internet/email content is to include punctuation. It creates a more natural-sounding experience with screen readers by providing appropriate pauses to separate ideas, paragraphs, or other content. At the very least, commas and question marks should be added to the allowable punctuation, but I think all punctuation should be allowed.

This is the error message I receive when trying to use proper punctuation in my alt text image descriptions:

--- Sorry, your file description cannot contain characters like: / \ ; : * ? " | < > ,

Hi @JohnK14

What are some cases where you would want this punctuation in the alt text for your images?
