Contacts - Copy / Paste of Multiple Emails gone / being REMOVED

I see you no longer allow copy / paste of multiple emails which is horrible for me. At the end of each week I copy and paste my emails over. Sometimes there's quite a few. It's a horrible change that my whole office is upset about. PLEASE CHANGE THIS BACK!!! There's over 20 of us using your product here, all of which are upset!

Hello everyone,

This functionality was not previously considered for development into the newer contacts import system, as our data showed that it was the absolute least used method of adding contacts compared to all the others. As we begin to rollout our new and redesigned contacts experience, feature parity is our top priority when introducing our customers to these new pages. It continues to be a work in progress so we appreciate your feedback as we continue to develop these pages tailored to your needs!

For future users visiting this thread, if you're wanting to see the development of this feature request, please give the original post a kudos (thumbs up). If you have one available, please respond with a detailed use case for the return of this function. Please remember to keep our Community Guidelines in mind when posting. Thank you!

In the meantime, there are two different ways to access the Paste names & emails feature:
For users on the old experience (blue navigation bar at the top):
Contacts -> Add Contacts -> Type or Paste Contacts

old exp add contacts.png
OR
Dashboard (click CTCT logo top left) -> Click + Add on the Total Contacts box -> Type or Paste Contacts

old exp other add contacts.png

For users on the new UI experience (Grey nav bar on the left side):
Click blue Create button (top right) -> Add Contacts -> Type or Paste Contacts

new exp add homepage.png

If these workaround steps are not working for you, the direct URL to the old type/paste multiple box can be navigated to: https://ui.constantcontact.com/rnavmap/distui/contacts#imports/new_by_email

I noticed this today too, and it's pretty inconvenient. CC, can you please clarify this decision? Please resume letting us paste in bulk for contacts we've affirmed we have permission to contact.

I do not have the time to add new contacts individually. What made you get ready of such a handy tool as bulk copy and paste new contacts? This is enough to move my business to another platform. Beyond frustrating.

Go back to the old paste multiple new email contacts. The new form is not as good as the old one. After adding the first 10 or so I have to do an extra click on the plus sign at the bottom before I paste an email. In addition in the part screen box I use I have to keep scrolling down to get to this box to click it. All in all less efficient than the old screen. In addition after I add the group of contacts I no longer get the update bar telling me how many I added, how many were updated etc. Basically not as good as it was.

Regarding "copy/paste multiple emails" you state "

In the meantime, our old Paste Emails & Names feature is still available via Contacts -> Add Contacts -> Type or Paste"

This isn't accurate - see attached for 'adding multiple contacts'. There's nowhere to copy paste multiple at the same time anymore. You have individual fields for each email now. This is a bad change for me.

Hello @KrisC126 ,

I've updated my floated response with more clarification and example pics.

wow the "table" method is junk. Bring back the copy and paste for contacts, thats how we've been doing it for years! we don't want to upload files each time, we are a small biz and aint got the time for this.

If this change remains, it will mean a terrible inconvenience for our organization and will likely cause us to look for an alternative to Constant Contact.  We do the same thing as the original poster - copy emails from a constantly changing database and add them to a mailing list, knowing that CC will identify the ones that are new.

We as a staff agree that this feature being removed from the contact process is highly detrimental to our business operations and efficiency. We were able to use one of the work-arounds listed in the Administrator's comments for now, but worry that this method will not continue to be supported. Please keep this option available and integrate it!
