Hi, can you add a check mark as a special character?

Good question! You should be able to add certain special characters into the editor. I have seen success when people copy/paste the special characters from places such as a word document into the campaign. The editor does support certain special characters, but I cannot speak to whether or not all of those special characters will be supported by the various email clients (Outlook, Gmail, AOL, etc.) so you may want to try testing the email to a few different platforms before live sending it when adding those in.

Can constant contact support superscripting a registered trademark symbol as a special character?

Yes, superscripting text is available in the email editor. You can adjust its sizing and other font formatting as well:
