There is a checkbox under Form Setup that will prevent registrants from signing up more than once for an event using the same email address. This is unique to each event.

As Jesus mentioned, event registration notifications are now available! You will need to click the checkbox when creating an event to opt-in to receive emails related to your event.

Our devs are looking into discrepancies caused by the contact permissions handling for implied vs express, and the event system's functionalities for event sign-ups that don't explicitly opt-in.
