We have some subscribers who want to receive some, but not ALL, of our emails. We have an "Update Preferences" form. BUT, if a subscriber opts out of our main weekly email (but remains subscribed to other lists), they get re-added to the master list every time we upload contacts from our Realm database. This seems to violate FCC email permission regulations, right??? We are sending them emails they have explicitly asked NOT to receive. We have received numerous complaints about this from our subscribers. Can you please fix this function so that subscriber preferences are maintained? Thanks for any help on this.
I can absolutely see why that would be a concern. Unfortunately, when you're using a third party system to sync in contacts, we have limited control of what exactly they push to us. Sign-up forms in general only add contacts when the form is filled out, but a full sync with another database will always update all of the information in our system. Currently you would need to find a way to tell your realm software to only sync new contacts since the last time it synced, or you would need to create a new list specifically for 'Does not want weekly emails' and then after the systems sync, you would need to remove those contacts from your sending list again. I'll add you to the list of people requesting that we add the ability to permanently remove someone from a specific list when they're updating their profile.
