The new editor should allow the user to wrap text around a photo anywhere in a copy block. That's a fairly common and very useful layout feature. Don't know why you don't offer it.
Thanks for posting! The 3rd generation editor is designed to have each element of content in it's own block so in this case you would want to break your paragraph of text so that the image is where you wanted it to fall. Does this make sense?
No - it's terrible. We know how to manipulate text and photos. Having to create another block every time we want to use an image is ridiculously time-consuming. It distorts the flow that we were able to create in the previous editor. How do we get back to the second generation editor?
Thank you for your reply. You are correct that the image block can only be inserted within the top of text block. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused in not having this ability. If you wanted to have the image inserted with the appearance of being between the text block, you will need to copy and paste the text into a new text block and insert an image block above it. This way, it will give the impression that the image is between the text and you can align to the left,center, or right. Once again, I do apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. I hope this workaround helps. Let us know if you need assistance with anything else.
I agree with @plugfest. This was a function in the previous version that made it easy to create a nice flow.

I agree that you should be able to put it anywhere in the text block, or at least aligned with the start of any paragraph. However there is a better workaround than the one suggested by @Lucas_D.
What I have been doing is to make a new text block and cut and paste the part of the text where you want the image to appear into the new block. That way you can insert the image at the top of the text block and have the text run around it there.
Inserting the image in a separate image block doesn't really help anything that I can see. Maybe I'm missing something though.
Unbelievably awkward image placing capability of Third Gen editor. Unlike ANY other editing editing tool I've ever used (including Constant Contact's prior generation editing tool!!!!). What's the reason for this lack of ability to insert an image ANYWHERE within a text block? There must be some reason for this. Staggeringly bad design. Plus, we can't revert to the prior gen editor.

Please tell your whizzes there that the change on pic placement is horrible. it limits the size of the pic: if I have little text and a large pic, it forces a lot of white space on the right. there is no text wrap function. Why would CC do something so stupid when text wrap and placement on right, left, and center worked so well in the past? To give me MORE flexibility with the block! Ha, it obviously only gives me less. This Made my day terrible. I have a mag to edit after this. I did all the work on both. It is impossible now with a lot of pics and little text. it looks amateurish and I can do better now on Word, for heavens sakes. Should I leave CC now after all these years? I hate this and it makes my work look and feel less professional then in the past.

I'm about to leave Constant Contact because of this. It is a dramatic decrease in functionality. I want to be able to drag and drop an image into a text block and have it end up where it's supposed to be.
alignment - with other images (top, bottom, right, left) and with page (center, top)
resizing text boxes
free movement of images (ex. wanted to put pics side by side (plenty of room) and not possible)
ability to select and group objects/text boxes
I agree with the posts above. I did try the text wrapping feature but it did not work. The photo could only be in the upper right of the text block. I would like to position anywhere in the text block and we need to move away from having to have a block or box for each time we want to have some text with a photo. It is just not nimble enough. Let me know when you solve it and I will try your product again!
I am creating a weekly email to my congregation starting in Microsoft Word, and then copying and pasting material into a “template” (essentially a Constant Contact email that I created and saved as a draft).
I paste FORMATTED text into text blocks, and I insert images as separate elements.
I have a number of feedback items:
The second-generation editor allowed me to drop images IN A TEXT BLOCK. This gave me the freedom to place images anywhere in the flow of the text. In the third-generation editor, I have to break my text into multiple text blocks and insert images BETWEEN the text blocks.
I use “styles” extensively in Word. The third-generation editor appears to recognize SOME styles, such as headers, and applies a different format to them. However, the format has no relationship to the format in my Word style, and it appears to be the same for all level headers.
You need to add a feature to define the styles for different header levels.
I use “styles” (such as “List Number” and “List Bullet”) in Word. The third-generation editor does not recognize these styles. I have to select the paragraphs and change them to the appropriate list type; and then I have to delete the “bullet” or “number” characters from the text.
It would be very helpful if you added the ability to recognize, and properly format, these styles in the third-generation editor.
Although it is POSSIBLE to create multi-level lists (by selecting each lower-level entry and pressing the Tab key), it’s cumbersome and undocumented. And, there is no way to use different symbols (or number formats) at different levels.
In the second-generation editor, there was a button to indent a paragraph (it also worked to create multi-level lists). There is nothing comparable in the third-generation editor.
I use “styles” in Word. My “Normal” style specifies a line of space BEFORE the paragraph. This is ignored in the third-generation editor.
It would be very helpful if the third-generation editor provided some way to specify inter-paragraph spacing, and some way to manually override it when necessary.
I join with all the other users who have BEGGED for the restoration of the HTML editor that was available in the second-generation editor.
Agreed. It seems like with every revamp of the interface things take longer. Even with small changes. Sometimes it seems like the developers must be competing to see who can create an element that requires the MOST clicks! It's wracking out my wrist, in addition to yielding a very unprofessional looking layout. We do not want to shape our content to "fit" the size of the photo.
The reason the current so called wrap feature is useless is that if you want a photo next to the second paragraph instead of the first, for instance, you have to put it in a separate clock, which comes along wit excessive padding and there is no way for the designer to specify how much padding between paragraphs. There's no way for us to alter it so it looks like it's part of the same article.
