This seems like it should be so simple, but I'm having the worst time finding a solution.
I used the "brand my email with my website" option to create my first campaign. I'm trying to add a thin border around my entire email (not an image or block of text...the entire email) to separate the background from the body of the email.
I've researched this to death and cannot find an answer. Quite honestly, I don't know if I'm using second or third generation editor. A few posts mention a "style sheet" but that's in second generation and I don't see where to access my style sheet.
I'd like to send this email today and I'm beyond frustrated with this. Any help is greatly appreciated! It shouldn't be this difficult! I'm sure it's user error! :-)
Thanks!

If the third generation editor does not have the capability to add a border to the body of the email, then why do numerous help pages for the third gen editor show a border around the body? This is incredibly misleading and likely confusing more than just a few users.
Hi @DavidW87936
I apologize for any confusion caused from the images in our Help Center. There are templates that have a border by default but some do not. An example of a template with a border is our Basic Newsletter. At this time, being able to add a border around the entire email in a template where it is not a default is not available. This is however a feature request I have submitted in your account. I also did want to note we have made updates to our templates that allow you to add borders to specific blocks in your emails.
These blocks can be found when you create a brand new email in your account.
Two years later and this does not look like it has been added yet
Nope. I am frustrated by this as well. If you haven't already, go to the linked post below and kudo the top post so they will send it to their developers. I don't know how many kudos it takes for things to move to that stage, but after 2 years and several complaints, you would think they would listen to their customers. See this post: We ask for additional comments and votes be left on the open idea for inserting borders into an email, not on this post.
i have an email with a border (I can edit its color), however, I do not recall how I created it, so I simply reuse the template over and over. - Wimberly
When are we going to be able to add a border around the entire email template? We had this ability in the second generation editor. Why did you take this away??? Now my email campaigns are completely different! Please bring back this ability.
I too have been trying in vain to add a border. Please bring it back!
I have had this same trouble! It seems like it would be such a simple add. I don't understand why this has not been made an option.
Especially given that background colors bleed into emails when forwarding, which makes having a white background necessary, a border would be really helpful.
You have to choose a template with the border option from the beginning. You cannot go back and add a border.
That's ridiculous!
Nor can you edit the border thickness if you had one in the initial build.
