I've set up several automated email series... but for some reason this one is not sending even though I have the trigger set to, "The first time a contact joins this list." The automation is "Activated," and I can see the list for which adding contacts to that list triggers the automation... I'm wondering why it still shows zero sends even though I've added five people to said list. Any ideas?
Hello @ParisaS3 ,
Welcome email-type automations only trigger from sign up form additions to lists. Manually adding contacts to the list, whether as part of an upload or from within the account, won't trigger a welcome email to send. To accomplish a similar functionality for manual list additions, I'd advise setting up an automation series instead, even if it's just one step.
Hello @William_A
Thank you for letting me know... it was not clear that the Welcome email-type automations only trigger from sign up form additions to lists, but now I know.
The strangest thing when I set up new automation series, is that the "Subject" line did not pop up like it doesn't for other emails... I thought that I put it in, but I had just named the email (on the top left) and now I can't find the Subject link when I try to edit the first email in that automation sequence.
At this time, there is an issue with CPE emails created from within an automation series not having their headers available to edit. The only workaround would be to make the email wholly outside the automation series, or at least just getting it started, and then copying that into the series. You can copy the step from within going forward after that, and it should retain the ability to have its own individually set subject line.

Hi @William_A
Wow, okay... you can see how that's a major use issue for setting up email automations in Constant Contact... I found that the auto-email that sent without the subject link bounced... with only one open (which was me after finding the email my "Junk" emailbox).
I just tried what you suggested above. I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks again,
-Parisa
