Whenever I type text and input space with space bar the space disappears immediately, so if I continue to type the words run together, I'm not having this issue on any other platforms using the same keyboard and browser, any ideas of what might be causing this? I have a video I can share.
Final Update 11/3: Hello everyone. I'm pleased to say this is now resolved. A fix was rolled out this morning that included several editor improvements, including this one where spaces were being automatically removed in some cases in Firefox.
If you still observe the space bar being removed between words, I'd try restarting your browser or clearing cache just to make sure the old code isn't cached somewhere.
I'm truly sorry this one took so long to resolve, but happy to see if be addressed.
I've been having the same issue in Firefox (version 101.0) for four weeks now. The tech I chatted with when the problem first appeared suggested trying incognito mode, but that didn't make any difference. Logging into CC in Chrome works, but it's a nuisance to have to use one browser for CC and another for everything else (not to mention that I switched to using Firefox for work specifically to get away from Chrome).
Why are spaces being removed as type in a text box?
I'm switching away from Constant Contact because of this issue. Been waiting for more than a month for a solution. I understand that I mean nothing to their bottom line. But I would rather give my money to a company that fixes issues they caused with an update
Over one month with no fix. How is this acceptable in any sort of company or service? There are better alternatives out there so do your research people and forget CC, they've long abandoned customer service.
Tuesday, when I logged into my CC account through Chrome browser, as I always do, I got a weird "Internal Server Error" message. CC Cust Svc advised me to switch to a different browser, and FireFox was offered as a solution. Great, I'm into my account and then I have this weird issue with spacebar not properly spacing between words. I review the issue and find it's an issue CC is working on and should be remedied by end of July. Well, it's July 27, which is definitely the end of July, yet nothing is resolved.
So I can't use Chrome and now I can't use Firefox. This needs to be fixed YESTERDAY.
Signed,
Frustrated and on deadline
I have been having this problem for months as well. Everything is set up on my computer to use Firefox, and for very specific reasons I won't get into here, I'm not using Chrome. Firefox is a major browser, and Constant Contact's product not working on it is unacceptable. I don't want to see ONE MORE "enhancement" to this service that doesn't fix this problem. The goal of fixing Constant Contact's problem by the end of July is a fail. I encourage every user to leave a review for Constant Contact
imho, the solution to this problem is to continue using the 3rd generation editor. However I worry it will eventually be discontinued. The cross platform editor, which is causing this spacing problem, has a few desirable features, including being able to indent a paragraph, but overall it's so elementary as to feel limiting, even quite aside from the spacing issue in Firefox.
A support rep even suggested this to me at one point.
I too am having the problem for the first time today on Firefox 103.0.1 on a 5K iMac. I do stock market commentary daily and had NO problem as recently as yesterday. Also no updates or other changes today. I did talk with your tech support in India; who was helpful with the brackets workaround; although instead I just am using (reluctantly) Chrome until you fix this. Also the technician did not immediately acknowledge the problem; but said I will never be able to type within Firefox 'or' Safari. That made no sense and eventually he relented that it's a known problem you are working on. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. Thanks!
I cannot compose in the CC editing tool- all of my words run together; the space bar doesn't work anymore in this tool. (Working great in this chat!)
This has been months for me as well. Totally unacceptable for a major email marketing company like CC to not have a fix, after months of having issues, for a major platform like Firefox. is beginning to look like a viable alternative...just saying.
I'm on the process of making the switch. I dread that time of week that I have to use CC. Now I just need to increase the learning curve for . Seems CC is quick to charge your CC, however not to quick to make changes so client can have a better client experience. Linkedin is my next step to tell my 20K plus followers about this joke with CC client satisfaction
I am trying to compose an email for a new campaign and no mater how many times I hit the space bar, it will not put any spaces between the words I have typed.
Same here. Very frustrating. A short term solution may be to compose it on your own device then paste it in. Far from ideal, but better than nothing if it's urgent.
Hello @PaulineG0 and @lamazangmo,
This is an issue we have been experiencing with customers on Firefox. Please attempt typing in another browser and it should work properly!
Hi Zoe,
I'd be delighted to click on the Accepted Solution button...if I could see one! There's no obvious sign of one I'm afraid.
Hello @lamazangmo,
No worries! Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.
I am only allowed to use the Firefox browser at work. Is CC working on resolving this text issue? Our agency has used CC for approx. 15 years but will have to switch if CC isn't going to bother looking for a solution. Thanks.
Using a different browser is not an acceptable solution.
Hi,
Every time I try typing in text, the space between the words is stripped out, so it looks like this:
EverytimeItrytypingintext,thespacebetweenthewordsisstrippedout
Has anybody else been experiencing this problem?
Hello @lamazangmo,
This is an issue we have been experiencing with customers using Firefox. Please attempt on a different browser for the time being and it should type properly!
I hope this gets fixed soon. I hate using Google Chrome and Firefox is my preferred browser. Please, please, work on getting this fixed!
Thanks,
WAMA
Hello @WAMAW,
Thank you for your feedback, our engineers are working hard to get this fixed and we do apologize for the inconvenience.
FIX THE SPACEBAR PROBLEM! Why can I use it in the community chat but not the email??
We all know the spacebar issue workaround is Chrome (or even Safari); but how about explaining 'why' this is happening and why you gave some customers here a July 'fix deadline' with no explanation of why your developers could not cope with the situation and correct it? Just enlighten us please; we're adults and many of us know a bit about software so we'll understand. Thank you. Oh.. and fix it ASAP and indicate progress by your staff or lack; and whether developers really are looking at the issue. thanks.
Yes, this switching of everyone to the new "system"--even those of us who have already been complaining that we can't use firefox--without warning was really inexcusable. But stringing us along with "we're working on it" and then in a year telling us sorry, just use chrome, is not something that inspires confidence in your product and service.
