Cannot insert line breaks in numbered lists

0 Votes

How do I turn off automatic numbering in a text box in campaigns? I am typing out a list with breaks between each question: For example: 1. How are you. I am fine 2. What is new Nothing. With the break between 1 & 2 ("I am fine") it automatically restarts at 1. How do I turn this automatic renumbering off?

Hi @DaveH. At this time, when a line break is added to a numbered list, the list will start again at 1. It is a noted usability issue when working with this specific formatting.

We're updating the status of this idea to more accurately reflect its current status with our engineering team, and also made slight changes to the subject line in order for it to be more easily found. We can't guarantee a commitment to deliver on this feature request, but it should indicate some awareness that we have heard your feedback and could be taken under consideration for a future release.

Hi, I just ran into this issue too. I'm creating a newsletter with two announcements. I numbered the first announcement "1." then added some images. Now I want to number the second announcement "2" but the program insists on changing it to "1". VERY ANNOYING and now I have to spend time inventing a workaround.

Also having this issue and it is very frustrating. And the original post says there is a solution, but there isn't. When you click the link it doesn't do anything.

Hi @user722264,

I'm not sure what original post you're referring to, but the current workaround is to put each numbered item/line in its own text block.

For each new number, or point/list item, drag a new text block into the template.

In each text block, type the desired number followed by a single space (no period).

Then, click back to right after the number and add the period. This should stop the system from defaulting to 1. I know it's not as ideal as just having the system do it for you, but until our engineers add it in, it's what we can do right now to try and achieve a similar effect.
