Can't get different image sizes to insert into FB and Insta

I have uploaded two different versions of the same image using sizes recommended for FB and Insta. I've clicked on "Create variations" so I can insert the size needed for each platform. But when I change the page for FB so that it is the right size, the image for Insta changes to that image too, and therefore doesn't fit. In addition, right now, the FB post looks good in the preview at the right, but it says it isn't the right size. And vice versa for Insta...looks cut off but there's no warning of it being the wrong size. Help! Should I not be relying on the preview to let me know that the post is okay?

I changed it to 800 x 628 and it worked fine in the separate post and in the post with variations. I guess that's what I'll use going forward!

Hello @AmyD19027 ,

Do the errors occur when setting up the posts for the different platforms separately?

When I create them as separate posts, Insta is fine but FB image gets cut off. The FB  image is sized at 1200px x 628 px.

Does setting the Facebook image size any smaller, or cropping it to be more even between length and height alleviate the issue? It's possible that Facebook's scaling protocols might be affecting it further via the preview.

Thank you for the update. I'll ping the Knowledge Base team to see if we need to make any updates to our applicable article on social image sizing due to a change on Facebook's end, or if there's something else occurring with how FB's API works with our social tool.

My problem may be related.  the Constant Contact updated 2024 post sizes for Facebook and Instagram, now show as 1080 x1080.  But the FB preview window of the email's social share cuts it off.  The URL for CC's updated 2024 post sizes is here: https://www.constantcontact.com/blog/social-media-image-sizes/    But the FB preview for social sharing or posts has always been problematic for me.  Can't trust what I see.  Hope you have some suggestions.  Thank you, Annapurna
