It is UNACCEPTABLE to me - a VERY VERY long time Constant Contact user that you have suddenly started new methods of adding contacts WHILST discarding the older methods.
I maintain an database of my clients here and more information than just an email address. At the very least each contact of mine has their name and many have much more information.
The two methods of entering contacts previously MUST be reinstated - the cut & paste method where you could enter the name of the contact and add a list AND TAG easily and ALSO the entire line method where you could enter whatever info you wanted in addition to the email address
This must be addressed urgently otherwise we cannot maintain proper client databases.
Hello everyone,
Thank you for reaching out to us about this issue. There was an error in the distribution, and it has now been corrected. Moving forward, you should have your usual experience with adding single contacts, typing/pasting multiple, and file import.
We've collected your feedback thus far for the devs on critical functions and expectations, so they can continue to develop and fine-tune the overall contact import experience.
Hello @AjayH ,
The system still has this option. You select which method of importing contacts you want, then you can paste the info in, move to the list and tag selection page, then confirm the import.
I just checked your account, and I'm seeing what the article is providing. Can you provide a screencap of what you're seeing that isn't matching up with that process?
Hi William,
Thanks for responding to this thread, but when I follow your directions, I'm directed to the new way to manually import contacts by email (I can select a list but not a tag when making the import this way).
I completely agree with @AjayH. If the system still has that option, it is not being made available to me as of two days ago. This is what I'm getting -- see screenshot below. I can upload an email address but to add the contact's name, I need to go back into Contacts, search for the email address, and build the contact info out from there. It is a waste of time. This is an automatic pop-up box and I cannot seem to get around it.

I understand that technology is ever-changing, and you need to stay one step ahead of your competition with added features, etc. But, as a long time CC user, I get increasingly frustrated when I go to do a simple task such as adding a new contact, and this function has changed. I had to log in on a live chat, explain the situation to get a resolution, and finally add my new contact. This process took about 10 minutes longer than it should have. I see how the process works now, and I'm sure there are other great features with this recent update...but I don't know about any of them because Constant Contact doesn't let their users know about updates! Truly, this is all about simple communication. While I do participate in webinars regarding updates and certain topics, I don't always have the time to do so. There needs to be a better way to inform us of updates and enhancements.
In addition, I have expressed my frustration with inflated campaign open rates due to BOTS. I get the standard answer of "Our team is working on this.", but other platforms seem to have it figured out and can isolate these BOTS to get a more accurate open rate. I feel CC is letting their customers down on many levels. Please help this long time user...I don't want to change platforms, but this is the first time I've considered it!
i am steaming. This may be the nail in the coffin for constant contact.
I was able to update my lists with up to 5000 at a time and now I see only 500!
Why????
This is infuriating.
I had this exact same frustration a few moments ago! Someone from my live chat told me to do this:
Click on the green "Create" button.
Click on the middle "Contacts" tab.
Click on "Add a Contact".
And the rest functions as before.
I expressed this frustration with my live chat person, and they said they weren't even up to speed with this new update as it was just rolled out - and wasn't even finished yet. Why can't CC simply let their users know of these updates BEFORE something new is rolled out? Or better yet, finish an update and then let their users know of the enhancements before it goes live. It would save so much time and frustration!
My live chat person told me i could never load up to 5000 at a time -- which i most certainly could do.
If she didn't know how it used to work - she should have gotten someone who understood but instead she gaslighted me.
I am still fuming over this but while I was typing my frustration, I was able to get to the old upload contacts page.
Am I going to have to pray every time I want to update my lists that I'm not going to have an issue?
Good luck to us all.
