hello i uploaded 3 groups of customers that i target into constant contact in the form of lists. i then sent out a really good email to one group then another, then another, then spoke to customer services and they said resend which i did.
i received about 10 responses and then from one of those closed one deal for the size of contract i was looking for.
i now want to start email marketing again, but everything is a mess.
what do normal people do? do they download all contacts and see who has opened the email and put them to one side for later and then examine the bounces and try and find correct emails for them to be set aside for a future email and then look at the unopens and then put them with the fixed bounces and then send those all togther. and then when everyone has received the same email then write a new email?
i am sorry about this - i just need to know best practice and what do do here. and do people download everything from constant contact and work from spreadsheets and then upload them - please can someone provide me clarity as i am blind and dont know what do do. thank you and sorry!!!!!

Congratulations on closing a sale from your email campaign. That is fantastic and should be celebrated. To answer your question, there is no perfect approach to nurture your list. Data hygiene is essential, so first, for undelivered emails that bounced, you will want to download those contacts to clean them up offline. Also, if they have bounced repeatedly, it is a good idea to remove them from your contacts and any future email sends. After you have your 'clean and deliverable' contacts in Constant Contact, you can segment them using lists or tags. You can also go to your dashboard and look at the most engaged versus the least engaged. There is a lot you can do in the platform. You can also download a list and work on it offline -- adding new fields or details -- so that you can customize your campaign.

That's great that you got such wonderful results with your email! Congratulations! Here are a few tips:
- If you are sending the same email to multiple lists, you can do it all at once by selecting the different lists you want to send to. You do not need to send a new email to each list, so that's a time saver for you!
- Here's a really helpful article for dealing with bounces. I always look at each Recommended for Removal type individually, and see if I can spot any obvious typos in the Non-Existent or Undeliverable categories (like gamil.com, or yahoo.con, etc) and just edit the address from the bounce list. I then go through and clean up the Suspended emails. If I am dealing with a large amount of bounces, I might do this over time instead of all at once. Once I clean up my list, I can then resend the email to anyone "new" added to the list like this.
- Over time, this will all get a lot easier, so just focus on getting your lists cleaned up, and then you may want to do some advanced segmentation.
But it sounds like what you are offering is really relevant to your audience, so keep up the great work. You will refine things as you go, so don't worry about getting fancy from the get-go. You can ramp things up over time. Focus on sending great content, and keeping your list clean, and it will all come together as you get more familiar with the platform.
Please let me know if you need more help!
