How do you ensure that your emails/ campaigns are automatically being sent out when someone new joins the email list?

Not sure this answers my problem. There is an auto generated acknowledgement that does get sent to every new subscriber, but I want a function that will automatically send a (designated) campaign email only to subscribers who join after that campaign was sent. Since subscriptions are irregular, but people need to get this info as soon as they sign up, is there a function in CC to automatically send the (designated) campaign as soon as the subscription is made?
If you create an automated series, you can have it set up so that once someone subscribes an email can be automatically sent out immediately and after the first email is sent to new subscribers, you can then schedule a second automatic one to send out at a later date.
