Ability to end Automation on a "yes" path for conditional split

0 Votes

I built a win-back automation today and created several emails just the way I want them (created one email twice because the first one was based on an old template I didn't realize wouldn't work in the automation - who knew?). Then I went to activate the automation, and I keep getting an error saying that there are no actions in the "Yes" paths. That is how I want it. All of the decisions are based on whether or not a customer has made a purchase since the last step. If they have, all is well and we'll engage them some other way. If not, then we want to send an email to reach out again. Your system is forcing me to add steps that I don't want just because you think there should be something in the "Yes" path. On top of that, I have used all the available steps for our plan level, so in order to add these steps that I don't want, I have to remove steps that I do want. How absurd is that?

Let me build the automation the way I want it and don't force me to add steps where I don't want them.

Status changed to: Acknowledged

Hi @EmuTherapy. Thank you for the idea. At this time, automation paths will only end on a "No" path. We're updating the status of this idea to more accurately reflect its current status with our engineering team and also made slight changes to the subject line for it to be more easily found. We can't guarantee a commitment to deliver on this feature request, but it should indicate some awareness that we have heard your feedback and could be taken under consideration for a future release.

I am having a similar problem. I want to be able to end an automated series after a person donates - and when that happens they join a new list (donors). I need to be able to make to make the "Yes" in the conditional split path "added to a list" or  "joins a specific list" but the only option available is subscriber "clicks a link." That's not helping us because clicking a link doesn't guarantee the subscriber has followed through to checkout (whereas joining the donor list does). I also need the No path to result in the subscriber continuing to get the series, and all that is offered on the No path is to "end" the series. Are more options available for conditional splits in more costly plans or is this just the way it is?
