Automatically separate first/last name columns during file upload

Allow full name as an import field, let the software split it into first and last name.

Hi @JeremyC8. Where would this separation fall into the import process? Would it be when you're selecting the fields to import or before/after selecting the list?

For my purposes, when selecting fields would be perfect.  
When the export software only offers full name I can separate first/last programmatically in Excel or Access prior to import. My thought though is that your other users might not know how to do that.  And, of course, I'd rather not take the extra steps if I didn't have to.

At this time, automatically separating first/last names within a single column during file upload isn't on our road map. If there's a change to the idea's status with the devs, or an increase in requests for its development, we'll update this thread accordingly.

At this time, this functionality largely exists within either the database programs that host the information, or is available within spreadsheet programs like Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, etc.
