Ability to connect Instagram without Facebook

Hello! I'm Christina - the product manager over our social area. I wanted to provide a follow up on this idea. Facebook has rolled out a new API, that allows us to connect directly to Instagram! We know this is a highly anticipated feature so we have added this to our roadmap for this year. I will keep the community updated once we have an ETA. I've seen at least one thread that brought this up and was dismissed, but seriously, there needs to be a way to connect to an Instagram account without going through Facebook! A ) Not everyone who uses Instagram uses Facebook, and B ) some, if not most constant contact users are probably businesses or organizations that utilize pages or accounts specific to that entity and not the person managing them.

I'm a web admin for an organization, but I don't have the organization's instagram account linked to my personal Facebook page, nor do I want to. I didn't even realize my own personal Facebook account was being linked to Constant Contact to connect the pages until I was trying to link Instagram; and will be rectifying that as soon as I'm able to sit down with my client and connect CC through their Facebook. But even then, there's no reason for them to have the organization linked to their person Facebook page either.  

Just make it so Instagram is connected directly and separately from any other platform. I get Meta bought Instagram, but surely the two platforms are independent enough to link to one without the other if you have a login and password for the platform and account you want to link.

Thanks for sharing this feedback with us! While we do want to better our user's experience, we apologize this is not something Constant Contact can control. Facebook no longer supports the old Instagram API, and the new API requires a Facebook account. Because this API does not allow this ability we closed the previous thread and will have to close this idea. This doesn't mean that we aren't listening to your feedback! Please feel free to comment or vote on any of the other open ideas to let us know what you would like to see.

Thank you for the idea! We're updating the status of this idea to more accurately reflect its current status with our engineering team, and also made slight changes to the subject line for it to be more easily found. We can't guarantee a commitment to deliver on this feature request, but it should indicate some awareness that we have heard your feedback and could be taken under consideration for a future release.
