[Events 2.0] Include Location/Venue/URL within the Add to Calendar Link

The new Events calendar downloads do not include links for getting into the event - pretty pointless feature to have if it doesn't contain the pertinent event details.

Status changed to: Acknowledged

We're updating the status of this idea to more accurately reflect its current status with our engineering team, and also made slight changes to the subject line in order for it to be more easily found. We can't guarantee a commitment to deliver on this feature request, but it should indicate some awareness that we have heard your feedback and could be taken under consideration for a future release.

As a workaround for the time being, set the event as either physical or both (if virtual), then add the URL and/or Venue in front of the Street Address field. This will cause the URL / venue to populate for the ICS file in these calendar links.

Agreed. Please fix! We get complaints from registrants all the time, asking my team to fix this issue. They want the file they get from clicking an 'Add to Calendar' button to include the location and/or Zoom link. Other event platforms have figured this out, and we are honestly considering using them instead to our registrants have a better user experience. Including the location/Zoom details in the confirmation emails is not enough. People will not think to look back at that; they will only look to the calendar entry.
