Create Rollover Images

Hi all,

Rollover images (e.g. buttons that change colour when rolled over) look great on Websites, and would be similarly good to have in our newsletters.

So I created one in Dreamweaver and tested it, and it worked fine (effectively the code just switches one image for another when you hover over it), however when I send it in a test email in CC, it doesn't work.

I think it would be such a great feature to have. Are there by chance any technical or other reasons (spam filters etc) this feature is not available in CC?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @JAYC212!

Thank you for your feedback about roll-over image/dynamic buttons! I will definitely track your feedback and desire to see this sort of functionality in Constant Contact. Currently, we are unable to support roll-over images due to certain code limitations. But that may be something we can implement in the future! If you have any more questions or other feedback, please feel free to reach out again!

Hi @Gwendolyn_b,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it would definitely be great to have.  Doesn't really matter for mobile of course, but we still get around 30% desktop users.

Thanks

This was suggested over 2 years ago. Will it ever happen?

Hi @ConnectWW

Thank you for your reply. Feedback is tracked and considered based on the amount of customers who request certain features, therefore, the more feedback we get the more likely it is to be built into the system. I have tracked your feedback and vote for this feature and we will happily let you know if the feature is built in. Here is some great information about the way customer feedback is tracked in our system. Thank you for using Constant Contact. Have a great day!

Hi Adrienne,

I'm not sure how actively people comment on this site, so i wonder if there is a policy with CC to maybe look at ideas that make sense and implement them? The rollover feature seem such a useful feature (at least to me!) I believe at least one of your major competitors (who shall go unnamed!) does offer that feature, as well as the ability to include emojis in the subject line.

thanks

Hi @JAYC212

Though we may not respond to every comment – it is acknowledged. The posts in the Community are read by Support agents. So thank you for submitting your feedback on our templates. We are always open to ways we can better our user’s experience! In fact, here is a section of our Community that helps explain what we do with our customer’s feedback.

Though the option to rollover images is not available it has been tracked in your account. I also would like to point out the option to add emojis in a subject line is available in our Third Generation Editor. It sounds like you may not have found this ability as I can see you create custom code emails. Here is how you can find this Third Generation Editor and how you can insert emojis in a subject.

Hi Frankie_P,

Thanks...regarding Rollover images, it sounds like there is no current plan to allow it, so I'll wait it out for now.

In terms of emojis, I realise this is out of the current thread, but because I do use custom code, can you point me to a link that shows how to custom code an emoji into a subject line, or provide an instruction on the same? Again I realise it's out of the bounds of the Rollover thread, but would be appreciated nonetheless.

Thank you!

JC

Hi @JAYC212

At this time emoji characters in subject line of a Custom Code template is not available. In the meantime we suggest using a UTF-8 Subject Line Converter. A quick internet search for this will help you find an available tool to accomplish this. A UTF-8 Subject Line Converter will automatically generate an encoded version, which can be used as a subject to your emails.

Hi, Our galleries would love this functionality too. Has it been implemented since these other requests? I see comments from 2017 to 2021.

I would like the rollover feature as well. It would be great for "Click to Order" buttons that animate.
