unsubscribes not syncing

Why does it not automatically unsubscribe clients from newsletters when client hits unsubscribe? We have to manually go in and unsubscribe clients or they stay checked which annoys clients. why do we have to do this manually ourselves?

Every email you send through us has a coded unsubscribe link per contact. If the contact isn't using that link, our system won't be able to register their unsubscription from the applicable account that sent the email.
