Hello - I have installed the CC newsletter signup form on my wordpress blog, and it creates a large Recaptcha box on the bottom right of the page (which is all pages, because the signup form is on all pages in the sidebar.) This box is intrusive and unsightly, and I would like to remove it - how can I do that? I created the form within the CC account - I have not used a plugin. I am including a screenshot - thanks.
Hello @ivmmag. Thanks for coming into the Community! It looks like an upper-level of support has already contacted you about this but I wanted to reply here in case another customer had a similar question. The recaptcha box on our sign-up forms is not able to be removed or edited at this time but it is something that we are collecting feedback on. We will send your feedback over to our engineers. Thank you!
I agree with the original post. This badge is disruptive on my WordPress site. If we cannot remove it, then how about forcing it to stay within the Constant Contact form? On my site, it's high in the DOM and covers content and navigation. Very annoying.
Hello @UtahD,
Thank you for coming into the community! I'll have your account tracked in that feature request as well. If you have any other ideas for how we can improve, please let us know those as well!
Hi Constant Contact folks -
reCAPTCHA v.1 was deprecated and as of March 28, 2018 doesn't even function. See https://developers.google.com/recaptcha/docs/faq#what-happens-to-recaptcha-v1
I have had to remove the inline form from my site due to the following error (pictured): "Cannot contact reCAPTCHA. Check your connection and try again." My guess is that you're using reCAPTCHA v. 1.
You should definitely disable it ASAP to allow us to use your forms without embarrassment. Then, make reCAPTCHA v. 2 optional.
This should be a high priority for you because the code you are providing is out of date.
Hello @PFTNews,
Our older embed-code for landing pages did use that now deprecated version of captcha. However our new inline forms are fully updated. It's possible your site was never updated, and you continued using that older form. In your account click 'Sign-up Forms' at the top of the page, and create a new in-line form there.
The old embed-code that was used before is actually no longer available within your account, so if that's what was on your site, I'm afraid that it had simply not been updated when our system went through it's update. A walk-through of how to use our new sign-up forms can be found here.
ours is a new inline form as well and we keep getting this box. it's annoying! is there no way to turn it off until you get it working?
Hey @SuzaneN,
I just wanted to address that I answered this question on your other Community reply. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
Thanks!
I would also like the ability to remove this floating recaptcha badge from our website. We have a signup form in our footer and this floating badge appears on every page of our website. We already have a policy page. I tried adding the CSS, but the badge still displays. It would be nice if there was an option under Settings to disable this. Any other ideas how to hide this?
This CSS works for me. I pasted it into my theme's main stylesheet. The !important part is required.
.ctct-inline-form .g-recaptcha {
display: none !important
}
Hi @PublicR13
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I apologize for any inconvenience caused from this recaptcha badge showing on your website! At this time being able to remove this badge is not a feature we provide. I have however tracked this feedback in your account and submitted it to our engineers. Please let us know if there is anything else in your account we can help with in the meantime.
Our architecture firm also just spent a small fortune creating a new corporate website, and are really bothered by the large blue reCAPTCHA graphic. However, we understand your desire to have your Privacy and Terms noted.
Assuming our programmers can find some way to hide your graphic on our site, (which is not certain), can we just substitute your logo with a simple text statement and hyperlinks that match what your logo says, but blends with the rest of our website? Something like this:
protected by reCAPTCHA Privacy Terms
Please advise.
Thanks
Hello @ShariM411,
Thank you for reaching out to us today. In regards to removing the reCAPTCHA, I would recommend having a look on the Marketplace to see if you can find some alternate sign up tools that are maybe a better fit for the aesthetic you are going for.
In regards to the hiding of the graphic or altering the terms and privacy section, we do not allow the altering of any logos or privacy terms that are part of any Constant Contact Integration, including any of our in-product sign-up forms.
We do, however, have resources for the creation of your own sign up forms, I would recommend that you direct your programmers to our Developer Portal.
I ALSO FEEL VERY STRONGLY ABOUT WANTING TO REMOVE THE RECAPTCHA ICON. It jumps around, on a small phone it takes up a lot of space, and it is awful looking, destroying the careful visual and color balance of my pages. Frankly I hate it.
doesn't have it, nor do they require Captcha. Maybe we should consider moving our business to .
It needs to be gone. Thanks.
Peter
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! We really appreciate your specific feedback on how this feature can be improved. It's great insight for our developers to review as they map out future updates for the product. I have tracked it in your account for them to see. I also encourage you to check out our Feedback area of the Community where you can post any additional feedback you have and chime in with other customers sharing their ideas.
In the meantime, if you have any further questions please feel free to reach out to us here. We are always happy to assist you in any way we can.
Agreed, a very annoying addition and not strictly necessary to have on page.
But easy enough to hide. Just add the following CSS to your stylesheet:
.ctct-inline-form .g-recaptcha {
display: none !important
}
Thanks Rob - I already used some similar CSS to get rid if it, but I am interested to know what you mean by it's not strictly necessary to have on the page? I googled around and people were saying it would be illegal to hide the badge - but I can't see why. It's crap we have to worry about this.
That's the first time I've seen or heard of it being a legal issue to have without a disclaimer badge.
CC is the only platform I've encountered with it on, but you're right, we do need to be concerned if there is any legal implication in removing it.
Where have you seen this stated out of interest?
Thanks Rob - good to hear you haven't heard of this before. I just saw a couple of people say it, on forums or similar, while searching for a way to remove the badge. I've never seen a badge done this way, and lots of websites use recapture - I guess it's because the G-R is hidden until there are 50 sign-ups for the day.
Thank you for reaching out to the Community about your sign-up forms. I can understand the importance of being able to remove the reCaptcha from these forms. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by not being able to do so. Being able to remove this reCaptcha is a feature request that has been passed on to the appropriate teams and tracked in both of your account.
How do I unsubscribe from this thread? So I no longer get email notifications about it?
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. That's a great question! If you click your profile icon at the top right, there will be an option that says "My Subscriptions." After choosing this option, you will see that you can check mark the particular thread and you can delete it. After you have deleted the thread, you will no longer receive notifications.
In the meantime, if you have any further questions please feel free to reach out to us here. We are always happy to assist you in any way we can!
I would also like the recaptcha box to be able to be removed for our signup form as well. It doesn't work well on our website when on a mobile! Very annoying box.
Hi @DavidW779
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I apologize for any inconvenience that may be cause by the reCaptcha in your sign-up form. I have submitted your feedback and tracked this feature request in your account.
Thank you, RobR062!!! For anyone that doesn't know, I just went to:
Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS
and copied and pasted the code.
It works like a charm! Awesome, thank you so much.
