Hi- I am Kim. My husband and I own Stumpy's Hatchet House in Fall River, MA. We are part of a franchise and Stumpy's is the original indoor hatchet throwing venue in the U.S. which is pretty AXEciting! I pretty much wear all the hats for the business and try my best to stay on top of things especially with marketing on social media. But it is easy to drop the ball. My hope is to try to work smarter and not harder and am looking for tools to help me in that. I am also a mom of 2 (one grown the other 16) so have a lot to juggle. So hello! And forgive me if I don't get back to this conversation quickly.
AXEciting, I see what you did there 😂
Welcome to the community; you should check out our Ready, Set, Send challenge, currently running. It’ll give you great exercises and help improve your marketing strategies.

Good morning! I am brand spanking new to Constant Contact - and I am also a senior citizen. I am on the Board of Directors of a nonprofit organization (501c(7), head of their Program/Activities Committee, and handle all advertising and social media activity. I suggested that we join Constant Contact as a means of reaching more of our members with info about upcoming events, announcements and enlisting volunteers. I signed up for a Trial Membership and sent out a Welcome message to other members of our Board this morning so they can see how CC works. Prior to the end of this trial membership our Board will vote on whether or not to sign up for a 6-month or 12-month subscription. I have signed up using my personal e-mail address and will need guidance on how to transition to a new email for our organization....I'm sure I will need guidance on many other aspects of how CC works and how to use it to the best advantage of our organization. If our Board decides on a subscription I will have a sign-up page on our website and direct our members there to opt-in for messages or perhaps an e-newsletter. Is there an additional charge to have members sign up for SMS text messages?
Hello @NormaR82 , welcome to Constant Contact and our Community!
Regarding your inquiry about SMS messaging, this is an addon package for subscriptions that starts at $10 USD / month for the 0-500 messages tier. If you're on the Premium subscription plan, this first tier is included in the monthly subscription.
For more info and quick references to relevant Help articles, I'd recommend checking out this thread in our Community's Questions & Discussions board.
Hi Nick,
I'm Ginger and starting up a small business as an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, teaching others how to craft handmade, stamped cards and scrapbook pages, and selling the stamps, inks, papers and other products. (I have been a Registered Nurse for many years and just retired a few months ago, so being an entrepreneur is completely new to me!) I have used Stampin' Up products for YEARS and was even a Demonstrator several years ago, before all of this technology! I now live in another state and I am meeting new crafting friends, but I need to build a new customer base.
My twin grandsons were born almost 5 months ago and so, being my own boss will allow me to find time to help with childcare and being a new "gigi!" I also have another hobby of machine embroidery and quilting, so I am really torn. Some friends tell me I should sell some of my sewing/embroidery projects!
I have been retired now for 6 months and I struggle to find a routine schedule like when I was working for someone else. It will help me to set goals and write out a calendar of tasks that must be done to reach my goals.
Hi @GingerG667,
Thanks a ton for getting in touch, and congrats on becoming an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator! It's awesome to see how you're jumping into this new adventure with so much enthusiasm. Going from nursing to running your own business is a big move, but it seems like your passion for crafting and teaching is a great match!
Building a new customer base in a new area can be both exciting and challenging. I’d suggest creating a simple marketing plan to gradually introduce yourself to your community. Social media, local crafting events, or even joining crafting groups can be great ways to meet people who share your interests.
And it’s wonderful that your new business allows you the flexibility to spend more time with your grandsons!

Hello, my name is Melica, and Im the founder and CEO for two LLCs. Ohmi Art Gallery and Say Yes Network. These businesses are particularly designed for individuals with disabilities. I have more than 30 years of experience working in healthcare and education. I have an extensive background in visual and craft arts. Since I am about to retire, I want to continue working with my students as adults. Once many of them leave school, many are not prepared to live on their own and still require additional assistance with employment, life skills, and mental health. Say-Yes Network is being developed as a trusting place to turn to when help is needed. In my spare time, I read, work on my art, take multiple online classes, and collect vintage glass beads, which are then made into necklaces that will be sold in the Ohmi Art Gallery.
@MelicaG That is so impressive! Not only what you are doing for them in the two LLCs you are CEO for, but your vision for retirement and how you can keep doing what you love. It's extra cool that you spend your spare time reading and working on art and taking classes and doing things you love, which then further support and help those with these needs. Really awesome, glad you are here! Feel free to reach out with any marketing questions!
