[Events 2.0] - Ability to Send Event Email Automatically via APB

I am disappointed in the limitations of the Event 2.0 tool and not being able to easily set up email automation series to go to event registrants with the event details and reminders. This seems like one of the most important factors and is totally missing from this new too. I just got off a chat conversation and the rep indicated that the only way to send emails is to export the registrations list and then create a list with those contacts and then set up the email series. This is incredibly limiting especially in the cases where registrations might happen up until the day/time of an event. This is a major limitation to the new tool. Did the developers get insights from the actual users of event tools who want to use robust features like automating the sending of info? I'd love to be contacted to provide some insights on what the end user is looking for - I am a business consultant and coach, have worked with non-profits and am also a CTCT partner.

You should be able to add new content to active email automations. This will allow for you emails receiving content to continuously be able to receive updated and new content without the automation ending.

It appears that if Constant Contact is hooked up with a Shopify account, the Shopify purchase can initiate an automation email series within Constant Contact. How come this cannot be done with a purchase from a Constant Contact store? I would think this would be a great benefit to a Constant Contact store owner. Can this be looked into? Thank you.

Can you please update the program to be able to add/edit an automation series? As a new creator I am constantly changing things and need to upgrade my welcome series as I learn new things. Having to make a new one every single time is becoming overwhelming in the process.

Hi All! So I just switched over from another EMM provider, and there are some things that are really being overlooked for professional marketers as far as automation is concerned. As someone who was a diehard, and consistently in the top 5% of monthly users, there are things that I love so far about Constant Contact (i.e. easily being able to adjust the theme of emails without diving into source code). There are definitely some things aside from the basic email editor that I think can be improved on. For instance, being able to base an automated series around a specific date or custom field is crucial in B to B email marketing. Our clients have lease expiration dates listed in their contact profiles (custom fields), which means that they would specifically be looking for our products around this time. Being able to time an automation series around this would be a game-changer. Another improvement would be to allow the functionality of automatically funneling contacts into separate contact lists once they finish an automation series. For example, during an automated series, I do not want my "general interest" emails going to specific contacts in addition to the automated series, but after the automated series is complete, I would love to avoid having to manually remove them from the automated series and add them back into the "general" list. Just some thoughts on taking the automation-side of Constant Contact to the next level! Thanks for listening to my rant! Matt

Constant Contact Rep. by phone tells me that their new (non-legacy) emails series does NOT allow us customers to directly Edit (change) how long after someone joins an email list until they get the first email in the series. Once your series is Active, there is NO WAY to simply change the "Start Delay". So if you want to change the start from 10 day to 20 days, you can NOT simply do that. Instead, you have to COPY the entire series, rename it, save it, then go back and deactivate the prior series (and then delete it), then Activate the COPY series, (but emails already in the pipeline will NOT get this series since the Trigger is NEWLY-ADDED emails, not ones already on the list. If, like me, you have ~30 of these series (each with 15 emails), you will need to do all of these steps ~30 times! HUGE waste of time!! They need their programmers to FIX THIS and let us simply Edit the "Start Delay".

We are looking for a feature that allows an email automation based on inactivity. Right now there is an option that triggers an email series based on three specific triggers. We want to see a trigger that creates a series of emails based on someone NOT clicking/opening an email.

I would like to be able to have an individual QR code generated for my welcome email for anyone that subscribes to the email list. As a thank you, they receive their own QR code, which gives them a freebie, but can only be scanned/used one time.

I'm really not sure if this is applicable because I can't see behind the curtain and how CC operates. I just wanted to inject the idea of allowing people to simply edit and change the type of trigger within the email during the editing/path building process. For example, before I understood how to select the option to add/remove contacts to a list to have them receive emails, I created a welcome email but completely built out the path following a proven email campaign workflow template, with time delays and conditional splits and content for all the emails. In this scenario it would have been really great to be able to make a copy of that path and simply change the initial trigger option instead of having to build out an entirely new path because it would potentially save me hours of time. I tried to make a copy of a path though and when I clicked the button to do that the screen did not indicate in any way that it was responding so I kept clicking and now have nearly a dozen welcome campaign that I can't use or get rid of. That is a separate issue from what I'm discussing here but they are also kind of tied together because I learned it is possible to easily create a huge mess when copying campaigns just because the initial trigger action wasn't able to pivot from a welcome path trigger. Going on day three of having to rework the previous two weeks of setup and content generation and it would have been preferable to avoid the situation altogether. 😕 For context, I am a brand new premium user with no background in marketing.

I started 2 automation paths trying to achieve the automation I wanted but didn't activate and only the trigger point in the path and it won't let me the trigger point to make it empty nor delete the path. There is nothing else in it and not activated so not sure why I wouldn't be allowed to delete them.

I want to send out a DUES are DUE email that I have been working on for while! What the Hell is anniversary dates got to do with the time of day and WHY is this not letting me send it out on MY TERMS??? Worse it won't let me copy and start over. WAY TOO MUCH WORK into this to have some funky process make it an issue to get out IMMEDIATELY! Please call as soon as your schedule permits. This is VERY frustrating!!!

It would be really great to be able to create an automated email from an email that is already created. Just adding that as an option when you pull it up. Right now you have to go into the automated email option and create a new one, even if you already have the one you want in the files.

Please make it possible to re-start automated campaigns. When they get ended automatically by Constant Contact (for a compliance or billing issue), there is no way to re-start the campaign. Having to copy and start over is a nightmare for reporting!!!

This page shows all campaigns that are completed in the past mixed in with draft and active campaigns... it becomes very cluttered since we have several that we deactivated (because unlike before, automated series does NOT allow us to modify an active automation without deactivating and copying it - which is also another issue that's making this a bit clunky). Ideally, the page should show only active and draft campaigns by default, and allow switching views/filter to show past ones. Thank you.

Our company would like to offer a product that involves educational materials sent out via Autoresponder series. Consumers would pay for the series, then once they pay they would automatically be added to a list and the autoresponder series would start. Currently, I have not been able to locate a way to link a sign-up form to payment. It seems that consumers would have to go through the "Enter Your Information" process twice to gain access to the series, which is a real shame as it can deter many people to add more clicks. It would be great if there were a way, through Constant Contact, to easily add someone to a list via a payment form!

This is a simple idea, I've been working on updating our backup of contacts, which we use Google Contacts for. Constant Contact doesn't offer options to export directly to GC, but it isn't too difficult if you change the headers of the necessary fields. However doing this every time, (I've chosen to do it manually instead of finding a better way within spreadsheets,) leads to potential errors. The choice to preset your export columns. A versatile fix that Constant Contact could implement, which would become a useful feature, similar to how we can select, in effect choosing to confirm, which fields our headers should match, exports should have a similar degree of control. By reversing the layout of the import process, now we would match the columns of an export to titles which we can type in ourselves. Being able to save these titles, and to save them to a preset would make this a good time saver.

I have two ideas. 1) Branch Automation Based on Segment Membership: This should already work, but it doesn't (may be user error, but I've talked with support, and they said it's an actual issue). I have an automation that sends Email 1, and then a segment captures anyone who opened Email 1. The automation then splits into two branches: contacts in that segment, and contacts not in that segment. This seems like it's a function in Constant Contact, but it's not working. 2) Trigger Automations Based on Segments: This is pretty straight forward, but once a contact enters a segment, trigger an automation. Both of these would be super helpful.

When I go to my "Reporting" tab, I only see data for emails I schedule but not for emails that are part of an automated sequence. The vast majority of emails I send now are from automated sequences, and it would sure be nice to see in-depth stats for those emails.

Hello, When building custom automation paths, it would be very helpful to be able to duplicate an element within the path. IE: I want time delays between my emails that are all 1 day. If I drag and drop a time delay onto the timeline, they are all 1 week by default. It would greatly speed up the process by being able to duplicate the elements. Thank you,

Hi, I’m looking for a way to automate (as much as possible) the process of emailing my WordPress blog posts to subscribers who have specifically requested to receive them as they’re published. I already have a dedicated list in Constant Contact for this. Here’s the situation: Currently, I use Microsoft Power Automate to pull the RSS feed and send each article via Outlook (Business 365). However, I manually manage the email list, which is fine for a few subscribers but will be unmanageable as I roll this out to hundreds of members. What I need is a solution in Constant Contact that allows me to: Import or pull blog content (preferably via RSS) directly into a campaign without manually copying, pasting, and formatting each article. Automate the process of sending these emails when a new article is published, or at least streamline it to minimize the time spent. Does Constant Contact have tools, integrations, or workflows to help with this? I’d love to hear about any features or third-party integrations that might suit this purpose. From a dynamic email list that I have constructed in DonorPerfect i would like to send the same email at the first of every calendar quarter. Because this email list changes every quarter based on a DP filter (member expiration date in the next calendar quarter) the scheduled quarterly email would not go to the same constituents. We are looking to remind members that have an expiration date in the following quarter to renew their membership. Currently I have to copy/save last quarter's email and then schedule it for the future date. This is a repetitive manual process that new functionality would make much easier and streamlined. I made the move from to Constant Contact and one feature that I really need and it is missing is the ability to set up email automations and set specific days of the week at which the emails should be sent out. For example, in my business I have one educational campaign that consists of two emails per week that go out on Tuesdays and Thursdays, it is a series of 28-30 emails total. Ideally, I will be able to register new contacts manually, or coming from FB ads, and regardless of when those contacts get on my database I want them to get on that automation and receive those emails only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Starting from email 1 on the automation. This is important to me because I am trying to schedule certain topics for specific days of the week. Without this feature there won't be any organization and contacts may receive more than one email on any given day, and none when they are supposed to, etc. Would it be possible to add this feature?

On a standard email, you can see the spam rate in the email details page. But, if you have an automation set up, it will not count your spam reports - or at least it doesn't show you your spam reports. Can this be fixed? Is there a workaround?

Would love to be able to be able to check tags in an automation and if contact has a certain tag then be abe to remove them from an automation, second best option would be ability to remove them manually, this is a must , I am surprised this option is not available at the very least.

I built a win-back automation today and created several emails just the way I want them (created one email twice because the first one was based on an old template I didn't realize wouldn't work in the automation - who knew?). Then I went to activate the automation, and I keep getting an error saying that there are no actions in the "Yes" paths. That is how I want it. All of the decisions are based on whether or not a customer has made a purchase since the last step. If they have, all is well and we'll engage them some other way. If not, then we want to send an email to reach out again. Your system is forcing me to add steps that I don't want just because you think there should be something in the "Yes" path. On top of that, I have used all the available steps for our plan level, so in order to add these steps that I don't want, I have to remove steps that I do want. How absurd is that? Let me build the automation the way I want it and don't force me to add steps where I don't want them.

We often work comparing campaigns but CC doesn't allow you to open many pages into a new browser tab. For example, if you're in an automated series campaign, you can't just open each email into a new browser. You have to go back to the beginning and do 3 clicks (usually the server is painfully slow) to get to open all the emails in the drip. Thank you for your consideration.

Custom-coded emails are not available for use when setting up automation paths or for event invitations. This is a big oversight since the builder in Constant Contact is way too limiting. I would love to have the option to add/use custom-coded email campaigns in automation paths.

Hello team! 5 years with and it was pretty straightforward there. I didnt know it doesn't exist here before I moved to CC. When selecting >Automations >Create custom path >Starting point Trigger - someone is added to the list When i press the ... to Edit this, it shows me the list I want to send it to and I have multiple lists so I can choose which list to send automations to (No issues so far) However, just like I can select from multiple contact list and choose 1, kindly add within the contact list, the option of "Send this content to contacts whose ..." (required) Add drop down: job title (or city or state or company) is ________________ (required) This feature actually exists in CC under different scenario. Here is how I get to it: >New campaign >Hover over UI and click the bulb on the right that says "make this layout dynamic" >"Send this content to contacts whose ..." (required) drop down: job title (or city or state or company) is ________________ (required) This way, I am able to send automations to only people who have subscribed to my mailing list from a specific city or a company or a job title. I do not want to create a new contact list everytime I create an automation for people working in different companies, located in different cities or jobs. Hope my explanation is clear. Looking forward to the feature!
