Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you are trying to remove a segment of contacts from one single list, but leave them on all other lists.
This can certainly be done. To do this, you'd first need to add the segmented contacts to a new list. When doing this, you'd want to make sure to create a new list. You can name this list whatever you'd like - the list will exist solely so we can go into it and remove them from another list.
Once that's been done, you'd want to open up that newly created list with the contacts in it, and remove the contacts from the desired list. That should allow you to remove that segment of contacts from one individual list, and leave them on all of the others.
