Can you provide a screencap of which part of the add contacts process you're seeing the issue on? Is it occurring on the contact field selection screen, and if so does the email address column have email addresses properly listed in it?
It may be easier to call our general support line so they can see the issue as it's occurring live, and also work with the higher level technical team on troubleshooting it. Otherwise if you're still having issues uploading the list, you can respond to the @ mention email you receive from this reply and attach the list that needs uploading, along with your account username and the name of the list you want created / the contacts assigned to.
